Iain Dowie claimed his bitter £2 million High Court wrangle with Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has destroyed his managerial reputation.
The former Crystal Palace manager spoke of the "very abusive, ultra-aggressive, demeaning and angry" telephone call with chairman Simon Jordan that signalled the end of his time at the club.
He told a top judge that he was prepared for Mr Jordan to be "upset" after the club failed to win promotion to the Premiership in May 2006.
And, from past experience, he also said he knew that the club chairman "would be aggressive and outspoken".
But Dowie told the High Court: "I was not prepared for the way that Simon spoke to me on the telephone and the very abusive, ultra-aggressive, demeaning and angry nature of the call."
"Simon shouted and swore at me constantly."
"I was used to Simon being aggressive and swearing, but this was by far the worst I had ever experienced either by Simon or generally in my time in football."
Dowie is being sued by Palace for alleged 'fraudulent misrepresentations' when he left the club last summer and joined Charlton Athletic.
He told the court: "The litany of personal abuse didn't help my chances of finding work after I left Charlton."

I finally found it, the last of the Red Rain flavours. I got this bad boy at Wal-Mart for $4.97 CAD per 4 pack. Yes, the rumors are true, you can get 4 packs of Red Rain for only $4.97 CAD and 4 packs of Red Bull for $6.97. There are also 4 packs of Guru regilar and sugar free for the same low price of $6.97 for a 4 pack. That is so cheap - $5 for 4 cans. Why the hell am I buying these from the local 7-11 for $2 per can? I should just go to Wal-Mart once per week and get 2-3 packs of these.
I still haven't tasted acai berries so I cannot say for sure if this flavour captures the taste. It does taste a lot like blueberries though, which I assume is why it is called Acai-Blu. The blueberry taste is actually quite nice - not too sweet and a bit on the sour side. There is no obvious trace of artificial flavours eventhough the back label says there are some. This doesn't taste like other fruit energy drinks, it tastes a lot like a regular Red Rain with some of its flavour substituted with the acai-blueberry one. It still has a bit of the acidic Red Rain taste, but not as much, obviously. The aftertaste is pretty good too. It starts off with a blueberry aftertaste, moves onto the regular Red Rain acidic aftertaste and finishes clean all in 2-3 minutes time.
Same energy content - 80 mg. I got a nice boost early in the morning, but I am sure I have to go for seconds in a few hours. Good thing I got a 4 pack of these for $5.
Scores: Cost - $4.97 CAD per 4 Taste - 8.2/10 Energy - 6/10
Overall - 14.2/20...I would still buy the regular Red Rain, just because I enjoy the clean taste. This, however, is one of the better fruit energy drinks I have had because of its low sweetness level
This recipe was easy to make and very tasty. The cookies had a crunch and freshness to them. Instead of buying already made dough, just make these. They require few ingredients and they do not take much of time to make.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon fine salt 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature 3/4 cup granulated sugar 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar 2 large egg yolks 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1/4 teaspoon finely grated orange zest Coarse sugar, aka sanding or crystallized sugar Royal Icing, recipe follows
Directions Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
Beat the butter and both sugars in another medium bowl with an electric mixer on medium-high speed until light and fluffy, about 30 seconds. Add the egg yolks, vanilla and orange zest mixing until fully incorporated. Slowly add the flour mixture, and continue beating until the dough comes together, stopping and scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
For rolled cookies: Roll about a tablespoon of dough by hand into a ball. Dip 1 side of the balls into some coarse sugar and place them sugar-side-up on an ungreased baking sheet, leaving about 1-inch between cookies.
For sliced cookies: Divide dough in half, roll by hand into 2-inch-wide logs, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, at least 2 hours.
Cut the logs into 1/4-inch-thick cookies and place them on ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 1-inch between cookies.
For cutout cookies: Divide dough in half, pat into disks, wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, at least 2 hours.
**Tip: roll out and use cookie cutters when the dough is room temp, THEN refrigerate before... baking. Cookies do spread quite a bit when baking, so leave plenty of room between cookies.
Roll dough between lightly floured parchment, or waxed paper, until about 1/3-inch thick. Transfer sheets to a baking sheet and refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes. Cut into desired shape using a cookie cutter, place them on ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 1-inch between cookies. (Gather the dough scraps together, pat into a disk, chill and reroll.)
Refrigerate cookies while preheating the oven to 375 degrees F, for at least 30 minutes.
Bake the cookies, until the bottoms are golden, about 10 to 15 minutes depending on shape. Cool on sheets until firm enough to transfer to a rack to cool. Decorate as desired and serve, or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 month.
Royal Icing: 5 tablespoons meringue powder (egg white powder) 6 tablespoons water 1 pound confectioners' sugar (about 3 3/4 to 4 cups or 1 box) Food coloring, as desired
Combine all the ingredients, except the food coloring, in the bowl of a standing mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix slowly until stiff enough to form peaks. The icing should be pure white and thick, but not fluffy and bubbly. If the frosting is overbeaten, it will get aerated which makes it harder to work with. If this happens, let the frosting sit to settle, then use a rubber spatula to vigorously beat and smooth out the frosting.
Alternatively, combine ingredients in a large bowl, and beat with hand beaters on low speed until the frosting thickens to stiff peaks.
Add up to 1 tablespoon food coloring and mix with a rubber spatula until the color is uniform. (Adding too much color reduces the sheen of the frosting and can break down the consistency of the frosting over a couple of days.) Store icing, covered, with plastic film on the surface of the icing.

Ingredients: 1 cup light coconut milk 1/2 cup smooth, natural peanut butter 1/4 cup soy sauce 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice 3 tablespoons brown sugar 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 teaspoon ground coriander 2 small pork tenderloins (about 2 pounds) Extra Virgin Olive Oil for the grill
Directions In a large bowl, whisk the coconut milk, peanut butter, soy sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic, and coriander to make a smooth sauce.
Trim the pork of excess fat; butterfly the tenderloins by splitting each one lengthwise almost but not quite all the way through, so the halves remain attached.
Open each tenderloin like a book, cover with plastic wrap, and pound to an even 1/2-inch thickness with a meat mallet or the bottom of a small skillet. Put the pork tenderloins in the bowl with the marinade and turn to coat. Cover with plastic wrap, and let sit for 2 hours at room temperature, or overnight in the refrigerator.
When you're ready to cook the pork...heat a gas grill with burners on high. Clean and oil the grate. Remove the tenderloins from the marinade, letting excess marinade drip back into the bowl (don't discard the marinade).
Grill the tenderloins, covered, turning once, until just cooked through, 5 to 7 minutes total (cut into one to check). Transfer to a carving board and let rest for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile, pour the marinade into a small saucepan and add 2 tablespoons water; bring to a boil (*WARNING: This liquid MUST be brought to a boil to kill any bacteria from raw meat juices), reduce the heat, and simmer for 3 minutes. Remove from the heat. If the sauce seems too thick, thin it with 1 or 2 teaspoons water. Slice the pork and serve with the sauce on the side.
Serving Suggestion: Serve with steamed jasmine rice and stir-fried snow peas or vegetable mix.

A victory roar from McDowell (left) and Poulter after clinching the Ryder Cup
A stunning days golf at the Celtic Manor in South Wales saw Europe win the closest Ryder Cup contest since Brookline, Massachusetts in 1999.
Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell won the final singles match to help Europe regain the trophy by the smallest possible margin, 14½ points to 13½ points.
Trailing 9-6½ going into the weather delayed finale, the United States fought back superbly to take the match to the wire. Only Europe's Luke Donald, Ian Poulter and Miguel Angel Jimenez managed to win their singles matches, whist victories in the singles today by American's Steve Stricker, Dustin Johnson, Jeff Overton, Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Zach Johnson brought the USA level with Europe at 13½ points apiece.
This meant it all went down to the final singles match between McDowell and Californian Hunter Mahan, as Europe went in search of the magical 14½ points needed for outright victory. McDowell, ironically the US Open champion kept his cool and held his nerve as Mahan was forced to concede defeat on the 17th green, sparking wild celebrations among the European team and the majority of the 35,000 fans.

My Dad gave me some peaches the other day off of his tree. I didn't have quite enough to get a canning operation going, so I went on a quest to find a yummy peach dessert recipe. I came across a lot of peach pie recipes, and they all looked great. But when I found this recipe for a Peach Upside Down Cake, I just had to try it. It turned out AMAZING! It was almost like a peach cobbler, and was especially wonderful served warm with a scoop of ice cream.
Start by heating your oven to 325 degrees. Butter a 9-inch square or round cake pan, or spray with baking spray. Peel and pit the peaches, slice thinly.
Fruit Mixture:
3 peaches, peeled, thinly sliced, about 2 cups of slices (I think I used 4 or 5 peaches)
1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 scant teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 Tablespoons melted butter
Toss the peaches with the brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Arrange the peach mixture in the prepared baking pan. Cake:
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, stirred before measuring
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup butter, room temperature
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2/3 cup milk
Combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a bowl. In a large mixing bowl with electric mixer, beat butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla extract, and almond flavoring. Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture, alternating with the milk, beating just until blended. Spoon the batter over the peach slices. Gently spread it around to cover the peaches. Bake for 55 to 65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Invert the hot cake onto a platter or cake plate and let stand for about 5 minutes. Remove the pan and scrape up any fruit slices clinging to the pan and arrnage them over the cake. Like I said before, it was especially wonderful served warm with a scoop of ice cream.

The World Cup is over, Spain were victorious and they are the World Champions. At the end of the day whilst watching it from my humble abode here in the UK it is in my opinion that Spain were indeed worthy winners, although it was generally a disappointing tournament all-round in terms of the quality of the football played, and the embarrassment and humiliation the England players and management team bestowed upon our nation!
This article is part one of several to come celebrating those undeserved 'Sporting Champions' - those teams and/or individuals that were actually top of their field, yet were still pretty rubbish.
For this reason I shall call them 'Sport's Greatest Ever Pretenders,' starting with: Blackburn Rovers - Premiership Champions 1995.
How did a team based around the workmanlike talents of Tim Sherwood and Jeff Kenna become champions of England?
Stick nine men behind the ball, hoof it up to Alan Shearer and hope he's not too busy flapping his pointy elbows into some poor old defender's eye socket, and in the interim point in time he whacks the ball into the back of the onion bag. That is how!
Ole, ole ole!.............free-flowing, aesthetically pleasing, champagne football!
That season Manchester United had been handicapped by the loss of the mercurial Eric 'the karate kid' Cantona, following a now well documented altercation with a Crystal Palace fan at Selhurst Park one January evening in 1995. Without the suspended Frenchman it immediately became advantage Rovers, but they still failed to claim their prize with any assumed authority.
They stumbled over the finishing line, losing three of their final five games, the last of which gave Manchester United the chance to snatch the title with the very last kick of the season, if they could win at West Ham. Luckily for Rovers, that final kick fell to United's Achilles heel, Andy Cole's club foot - and Kenny Dalglish's men topped the table by a single point.
They danced and they sang without a hint of ignominy, as this small Lancashire club lifted the Premier League trophy, just four years after the arrival and the aid of the late Jack Walker's dynasty and his millions.
Such end-of-season shamelessness would never be seen again............that was until Chelsea insisted that it'wasn't all about Roman's f***ing money,' when in June 2003 Ken Bates sold Chelski to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for £140 million, completing what was then the biggest-ever sale of an English football club.
He subsequently spent over £100 million on new players, as they went onto become the fifth English team to win (buy) back-to-back league championships since the Second World War in 2004/05 and 2005/06.
I finally found the time to continue with the EQ Smart Energy Drink line-up. Today's tablet is lemon lime flavoured and this time I poured less than 8 oz of water to see what it will do for the flavour.
Taste
The result has the recognizable lemon lime aroma, but the taste is still very mild. You should expect this from a tablet that promises only 5 calories. A squirt of concentrated lemon juice will improve the taste significantly, but unfortunately I did not have any on hand. Though there is barely any lemon or lime in the taste, it is sweet, just like the other tablets and because it is not carbonated, it goes down really fast. Overall the flavour is very similar to the other ones with only subtle differences in the aroma and taste.
Energy
You will find the same energy blend in here as well - 1,680.7 mg. Because I used less water, I drank the energy mixture faster and thus I felt the results earlier - around the 10 minute mark. It wasn't for another 20 or so that I felt fully energized and ready to go. The feeling lasted for quite a while but it wasn't as intense as some energy drinks on the market. It was more melow and easy going and like the other EQ tablets, I did not experience a crash at the end.
Energy Blend (1,680.7 mg):
L-Taurine
d-Glucoronolactone
Caffeine
Ginkgo Biloba
Other Ingredients: citric acid, inulin, maltodextrin, natural and artificial flavours, polyethylene glycol, sucralose, canola oil
Scores:
Cost - $1.00 for a tab from the King of Caffeine
Taste - 5.8/10
Energy - 8/10
Overall - 13.8/20...good energy kick, but a bland flavour

Esta receta de cocina de arroz con pollo os la dejo a petición de muchos de los suscritos...
Hello and welcome to the latest edition of my guest betting blog. In the second part of my 'summer special' I am switching my attention from rugby union to cricket, and focusing on the current Ashes series between England and Australia.
The Aussies, are of course holders of the famous urn, after their 5-0 whitewash down under in 2006/07. Not that you would think that if you have been following the media circus surrounding this iconic 'cricketing battle.' The British media seemed to have conveniently forgotten about 'that' series and before a ball had been bowled in anger this series, every broadcast and journalistic column inch had instead been devoted to that famous summer of 2005, when England regained the Ashes for the fist time since 1989.
To the current series: The opening test in Cardiff re-created some of the spirit of 2005, especially on the last day as Monty Panesar and James Anderson clung on to secure an unlikely draw for England. It got even better at Lords as England buried a 75 year hoodoo to go 1-0 up in the second test of this five match series.
Englands hero on that dramatic final day at the home of cricket, Andrew Flintoff, has announced his retirement from test cricket after this series. Will he go out on a high? Can we grasp the Ashes back from the clutches of the Aussies?
Andrew Strauss 3/1 Ricky Ponting 7/2 Michael Clarke 5/1 Simon Katich 9/1 Paul Collingwood 11/1 Alastair Cook 14/ Brad Haddin 14/1 Michael Hussey 22/1 Philip Hughes 49/1
Top series wicket taker:
Mitchell Johnson 5/6 James Anderson 5/1 Ben Hilfenhaus 4/1 Andrew Flintoff 7/1 Nathan Hauritz 9/1 Peter Siddle 10/1 Graeme Swann 12/1 Stuart Broad 27/1 Graham Onions 41/1 Brett Lee 69/1
Series Specials:
Will there be a hatrick in the series? Yes 15/2 No 1/18
Will there be a double century? Yes 5/2 No 1/3
Will someone get ten wickets in the match? Yes 6/1 No 1/14
I have to admit at the outset I thought the Aussies would come out on top. Though Ricky Pontings men are not as formidable as they once were, due in part to the retirement of cricketing legends such as Warne, McGrath, Hayden, Langer and Gilchrist, the Aussie's should not be underestimated. But with the advantage now lying with England I did wonder whether I should change my mind. However without the likes of Simon Jones and a firing Steve Harmison I just don't think we have enough in our bowling attack to consistently take 20 wickets a test, especially with the continuous doubts surrounding the extent of Freddie Flintoff's knee problems. On that basis I am going to be very unpatriotic and predict a 2-1 Australia series win at 9/2.

Another Jolt to add to my list. I also got this one from 7-11 for $1.99. I will make another trip to a 7-11 tonight to see if I can score some more Jolts. This one also has the cool logo on the cap.
Well, as advertised, the drink is blue, really blue. It looks and smells like blue raspberry Jell-o. It also tastes like blue raspberry Jell-o, but with a ginseng undertone, similar to the one in Power Cola. The sweetness comes out in the aftertaste and lingers for a while. In addition to the sweet aftertaste, hints of blueberries can be detected. In the long run, the aftertaste turns sour with a hint of blueberries. I liked that because the sourness kept my breath fresh for a while. There is nothing much to say, this tastes more like a soft drink than an energy one.
The can contains a Jolt normalized amount of 189.2 mg of caffeine. I had about a third of the can in the morning to wake up, closed the cap and went on with my day. I finished the drink over the next couple of hours and I got a nice sustained energy high. I love the can with the cap, brilliant idea. After lunch I started experiencing crash symptoms, but I quickly got rid of those with some tea.
Scores: Cost - $1.99 CAD for a 473 mL can Taste - 8.1/10...tastes like a soft drink with a slight ginseng undertone Energy - 8/10
Overall - 16.1/20...great taste, great buzz and is cheaper than regular energy drinks

Title: FOREX Training Video | New York Session February 28, 2008
Two opposing trendlines converged on the GBP/USD during today's European session to form a triangle, the apex of which was due for arrival in the early part of today's New York session. Traders who spotted the setup found a conservative long trade entry after the breakout -- in the direction of the prevailing trend and the market's latest stint of dollar selling -- during the hour prior to the start of the session. Fortunately, U.S. GDP news did not ruin a good thing, as the move ultimately produced a profit of between 70 to 80 pips (depending on entry) for traders who exited at the psychological level prior to the European close.
